Use Facebook’s Powerful New Feature

Have you ever heard of Facebook or Twitter?

Silly questions right?

Well, the competition between these 2 online powerhouses
just got more interesting.

For those of you who are on Twitter, you are probably
familiar with “tagging.”  Tagging is when you apply
the “@” symbol before someone’s profile name to
automatically create a link to that person’s profile.
This symbol is automatically added if you click “reply” on
someone else’s Twitter post.

Being able to link other people into your posts allows
you to share information like never before.  It also allows
you to get your name out there, build your credibility and
your brand’s credibility, and also helps you grow your
followers list exponentially.

This unique feature was at one point exclusive to Twitter
and one of the main reasons for it’s popularity… until now.

Facebook has just added the tagging feature to your
updates and they have made it extremely user friendly.

All you need to do to start using this new feature is to type
the “@” symbol in your status bar.  This will trigger the
new tagging feature so that you can tag people to your status
updates and posts.

Once you type the “@” symbol in your status bar, you will
just need to type the name of the person you would like
to tag.  As you are typing the person’s name, a drop down
box will appear, making it quick and easy for you to navigate
through your friends.

So, if you wanted to tag me in your status update all you
would need to do is type “@rickscheeser” and it will
automatically put in a link to my profile.

As the feature catches on you can see how this will help
you build a much more targeted list of friends since your
name and profile will be attached and easier for other
people to come across.
